Well it was a nice day out, so apart from getting pulled over, I took some bike pics.
About the pulling over…I got the tires changed today, 261 dollars just for the world. I bought the tires online, because no dealership around would offer me the tires I wanted. Well I had my uncle drive the bike back. I drove it there in 28 degree weather.. and didnt get pulled over (passed alot of cops however. A group of 5 even entered the shop when I was in there, almost shit myself.). My uncle however got pulled over only a few miles from the motorcycle place.. Why was he pulled over? He wasn’t wearing sunglasses… yea….Sunglasses. You see, we don’t have a helmet law here.. I wear a helmet… I like my brain inside of my skull, but he has ridden bikes all his life (even broke his neck on one…wearing a helmet.) but anyway.. the cop came out of nowhere and cut me off.. I thought he was trying to get around me but it turns out he was trying to pull over my uncle. Well when he pulled over, so did I and someone random behind me did too. I think we all thought he wanted to get by… but then he waved me around.. so I pulled in front of my bike and got out. He wanted to know what I wanted and I pointed at the bike and said it was mine. He asked for registration and proof of insurance. They are always trying to find something.. why do I say this? Well when he asked if it was my bike, he didnt ask for proof of who I was.. just asked my name.. which I could have read off the insurance card. Thankfully we got away with a warning. Cops are out hard and heavy right now. Didn’t stop me from riding today however.
Holy shit.
I got to ride today since it was nice out.. holy crap its a nice bike but holy crap do I suck at riding it.
All was fine when I was actually moving forward, it was just the moving that served to be the most problematic. I had no clue this clutch was so sensitive 90% of the time the bike would die when I was moving forward. I really need to learn that. Once I did get moving however it was a joy. My step-dad instead of letting me tool around for a bit, takes me on a winding road in the country…scary but good.
I would have to say it was pretty nice minus the getting going part. Time to do some research on how not to fail at that.
Intersections scared me to the point where I had to wait for everyone to leave, waiving on people behind me to go around. Its OK. I was hiding behind my full tint helmet and riding gear.
Its hard to look like a badass when your afraid to cross the street.
Hey, I made this. Hope you all like my bike and my short little tutorial.
If you actually click the video while its playing it will open in another window at youtubes site, there will be a “watch in HD” option as well!
