Small Traffic Isn’t So Small

So I have been looking through my web statistics today and I noticed something that is starting to improve my attitude. Apparently I have had over 1,500 different IP’s checking out my website this week alone. Granted some of these are bots.. its still interesting to know that I am searched for.

Entrecard seems to be doing decent and is pushing as much as 3% of my traffic without doing much work. Sadly however its not from the advertisements I bought but the drops in other inbox that got the page views.

Another interesting one was google mail. Three of you have clicked links, this is telling me some people are subscribing to my feed.. Thank you!

This really opens my mind however to what I really need to be doing. If I want readership its more about 1 on 1 connections.

So lets take this a step forward. If you would like to trade your blogs link for my link please leave me a comment with your website as well as a short bio about the site. If you havent noticed the rollovers on this site are usually decently detailed, esp the pictures and links.

Hey, I’m one of your readers from Entrecard. I’ve just recently added Entrecard to my site and it has definitely increased my traffic, but I’ve noticed a lot of bounces of people that stop, drop, and leave right away.

Anyways, my blog is http://www.moongrabber.com where I write about design and photography (especially web design).

@Jon Thank you for coming forward! Would you be interested in swapping links?

Entrecard… Should I try that out too? Hmm…

Seems everyone is writing about blog stats lately. I just did, and I found a post on Teeni’s blog about blog stats too. Fun times.

Yeah like Jon said too many entrecard ppl go to sites that they are not even interested in, resulting in that stop, drop, and leaving which kinda defeats the purpose.

I only drop on sites I like and leave a comment or two on them but it seems I’m a minority on this concept.

Anyways enough of my gripes, my blog http://www.mycheaptech.com/
Think of it as a poor man’s Engadget

@Dube Give it a try, all the comments you see on my blog besides you and adam were generated from it. It cant help to try?
    Heres a few tips:

    • 1. Keep your entrecard widget above the page fold (where you can see it without scrolling down) This will get you more visit clicks.
    • 2. Try and make your 300 visits a day.. I know it sounds like spam and its horrible, but if you get them, you will have people like GM here visit your site back. 300 is alot for me, but I actually did it yesterday.
    • 3.The increase in clicks is also going to increase your ad cost. This isnt good for the first month, so dont approve all the ads you get or your ad price will increase. Try to stay in your field and not accept things you wouldnt be interested in.

@GM Thank you for the comment! Unfortunatly every system has its flaws.. and the fact that you can just quickly drop is a bad idea. A comment tracker would be much nicer, but then again that would make people leave really short horrible comments ;)
