Well I wasn’t getting much out of the entrecard system so I thought I would try and boost my chances. The system uses a crappy system that has a drop button image that contains the user ID number and relies on a cookie on your computer to tell it who clicked. This is great for cheating. I noticed alot of people are repeatedly clicking my drop but my website hits aren’t really increasing..which means they aren’t even visiting my site. PEOPLE ARE GAMING THE SYSTEM. Just like digg, people are scripting to gain points.
Well since entrecard hasn’t shown me any improvements I thought it was time to try something everyone else is doing. I decided to game the system. It was really simple too. I took a mouse recording software, right clicked on my “drop” button, and changed the link to a random number… and wow it worked. So I loaded a little piece of software that randomly generated a number between 1000 and 28888 (since that was the highest number I saw in the “new users” section)
Then the mouse recording software generated the new number and I simply pasted the new number over the one that existed and the mouse clicked the load page button. Then it simply clicked the new drop button.
It worked. It was working. Then I got greedy and set the speed of the mouse to maximum. Three drops later it banned me and took all my money! HAHA! oh well right? It was an empty account when I started.
If they ban me thats fine, their TOS should include something about spamming but it does not… sad right?

I noticed how badly the system is being gamed, it’s terrible. =/
They’re trying to be as “old-browser friendly” as possible, but with it being how bad it is, they should just turn down some of the people with old, crappy machines and only allow modern browsers.
Well they unbanned me as well after a few minutes. I dont even see how these people would be punished either… sucks.

. Just kidding. It’s not fair. There are those of us that truly try our hardest to get in our legitimate 300 a day and because of Internet circumstances we come us short. No wonder there are so many out there with HUGE balances in their account that they can sell FOR PROFIT. Someone will find a way to take advantage of a flawed system no matter what it is.
My idea was a proof of concept. With one free tool, one online number generator and 10 seconds of mouse movements I was able to pretty much game the system. Personally I think something so easy shouldn’t exist.
I did however find out they have an anti script engine. It gives a penalty (all your credits removed) if you are caught scripting. This was easily bypassed with a slower mouse.
About having a unique key to drop.. thats non existant.
I’m not asking for a captcha, but a flash document all in one might slow things down a bit, esp if you have to get the link by sniffing your own traffic. The way it is now, anyone with a half a mind could game the system.
