Advertising my blog

So today is really slow at the office, as any weekend usually is.I got on digg and noticed a really neat article about how a digg user got banned for using scriptsto advertise his blog. Well first off that’s shameless, and its sad thats what digg is becoming. To make myself feel productive I have been looking for ways to effectivly boost my viewership. Nothing has really come up sofar that is entirely usefull. I did install this entrecard thing or whatever its called. Basically it forces people to click the button thats on your site to get credits and you do the same in return. That’s all fine. The most credits you get, the more imaginary cash you get to spend on advertisements.

So that got me thinking… why dont I just spend money on real google ads or Microsoft ads. Well here’s the problem: I am not really selling anything and I cant really sum this place up in a few keywords. For lack of better words, I am just too damned random to focus. Being the stubborn person I am, I ain’t gona change.

So for now I will just keep submitting my own articles to digg hopelessly trying to get a person to comment on my blog so I can feel special. So far it hasn’t worked.

Hey, Digg’s TOS says it’s perfectly fine to submit your own stuff. No shame, man!

Yea, but it ruins your rank if you do so.

Blah, the entrecard thing sucks too.

Adam: It says that, ya. But if your blog post goes popular on Digg, your blog will either get banned or put on autobury. They are weird that way! :-(

Kraze: Ya, I wouldn’t put money into advertising either unless you had a way to make the money back.
